Canon’s liver analysis package offers proven methods for multiparametric screening, assessment and staging of liver disease. Within minutes, you can obtain a comprehensive liver status during a routine examination, establish a diagnosis for your patient and potentially reduce time-consuming and invasive biopsies.
Reversible tissue changes
Attenuation Imaging (ATI) is an innovative tool that may assist clinicians in assessing the degree of steatosis. The early characterization of an existent steatosis is important for a reliable prognosis as well as for an effective therapy. ATI provides a color-coded visualization of the frequency-dependent attenuation coefficient in liver tissue.
Inflammatory processes
Innovative Shear Wave Dispersion (SWD) imaging, which is currently under clinical evaluation, allows mapping of shear wave propagation for the isolated assessment of parenchymal viscosity. The color-coded display may provide valuable, additional information that can aid in subsequent patient management.
Hepatic fibrosis
Depending on the degree of fibrosis, the hepatic parenchyma exhibits increased viscoelasticity. Clinicians examine liver stiffness as one of the indicators for diagnosing liver fibrosis or cirrhosis. Liver stiffness can be measured using Shear Wave Elastography (SWE).
Suspicious lesions
Advanced modes including Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) quantification can provide detailed insights into perfusion dynamics. Clinicians desire accurate imaging of contrast uptake to identify lesions. The CEUS package provides visualization of ultrasound signals from contrast agents.
As much as we at Canon strive to provide high quality imaging and quantitative measurement techniques, it is important to us that the results are available quickly and easily. That’s why we work with our users to develop innovative operating concepts and workflow automation solutions, that can allow you to achieve comprehensive, consistent results in less time.
Smart Maps help you visualize shear wave propagation in real time. Canon’s unique propagation map is a powerful and intuitive tool to visually assess the quality of an elastogram.
Canon's unique Quad view mode enables simultaneous comparative display of shear wave velocity, elasticity, propagation and dispersion for a more comprehensive, reliable assessment of the liver status.
ATI and SWE can be evaluated simultaneously with a single scan. With this, clinicians may assess hepatic steatosis and fibrosis even faster and more efficiently.
Multi Parametric Report
The Multi Parametric Report summarizes all results of your liver examination including external measurements such as liver size or blood tests such as the AST/ALT ratio. A colored bar graph or spider graph informs you, your patients and their referrers quickly and clearly about the status of the liver.
ATI trend graph
The ATI trend chart allows the user to intuitively view and analyze measurement results, over the course of therapy. Selecting a previous data point in the ATI trend chart automatically triggers the display of a graph showing all other corresponding measurements obtained for that day.
